  • Loud old lady

When we first moved in here, the building super lived upstairs.  Igor, the big Russian.  He lived with his little Russian wife who would spend many an evening yelling at him.  We didn't like this too much, but it wasn't so bad.  We certainly weren't going to go complain.

A few days ago the TV upstairs got really loud.  This seemed odd as Igor and Lana never really watched TV, at least that we could hear.  We put up with it until today when it just got stupidly loud.  I went upstairs, rang the bell, and when the old Russian lady opened the door, I explained to her in my nicest teacher English that she needs to turn down her TV.  I know she understood because she apologized, and sure enough things got a bit quieter.  But not quiet enough.

I dunno, I guess we'll have to go up there again, but at what point do you get the landlord involved?  Personally, I don't think I should have to ask even once for her to turn down her TV, but she's older and probably a bit deaf, and she did turn it down for me.  But I can still distinguish different voices.  Seriously.

When we moved in here we were warned that there are lots of elderly Russians in this building, and that we shouldn't make too much noise.  Well, who didn't tell her?
